Animal Anatomy

Collection of Animal Skulls

Overview: This series of illustrations details the inferior cranial side of several animal skulls: horse, medium-sized canine, and pig. They are rendered 1:1 in scale first in graphite and then digitally colored.

For these illustrations we used a wide range of graphite pencils to build them up layer by layer. This way a realistic depth is brought into the illustrations. Thick drawing paper was used to successfully carry out this technique as thinner material tends to rip and not be able to hold all the deposited graphite.
