Our client was working with the Bangladeshi government to create educational content that local paramedics can use to educate the communities in the rural regions of Bangladesh.

To supplement our client’s e-learning courses and presentations, we created educational illustrations that would support the paramedics in teaching the community members about Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC).

From sketch to final illustration.

Kangaroo Mother Care is about skin-to-skin contact.

02 - What is Kangaroo Mother Care?

Kangaroo Mother Care is a method of care for low-birth-weight and premature babies. The method involves the infant being carried, usually by the mother, with skin-to-skin contact.

Studies have found that by holding your baby skin-to-skin, it can stabilize the heart and respiratory rates, improve oxygen saturation rates, better regulate an infant’s body temperature and conserve a baby’s calories.

03 - Our Solution ✨

When creating community healthcare education, it is important that the target audience is able to understand and identify with the visual material. We started off by researching the KMC method and gathered a lot of references. We also carefully studied the cultural elements of the local communities to make sure we correctly represented our target audience.

With the help of our client’s feedback, we created a series of colorful illustrations highlighting the KMC procedure. We decided to employ a realistic style to make the illustrations as relatable as possible.
