What Is Calciphylaxis?
Calciphylaxis, also known as calcific uremic arteriolopathy, is a rare and serious condition characterized by calcification of small blood vessels within the skin and underlying fatty tissue.1
The condition is associated with dysregulation of calcium and phosphate within the body, ultimately leading to calcification of peripheral arterioles, the small blood vessels that supply the skin.1
